hybrid collective of filmmakers and anthropologists, doing.
We are a collective of filmmakers, photographers, artists, and social science researchers with roots across six continents. Since 2018, we have put our interdisciplinary skills into action, creating meaningful audio/visual content in academic, non-profit, and creative spheres. Within our cohort, we recognize the power of storytelling. That is why we are committed to producing ethical, high-quality, community-oriented media: so that emerging ideas and voices may be heard and represented authentically.
We operate from our studio in Berlin, and remotely, in collaboration with our collective members located around the world. Syndicate11 is cooperatively run according to a horizontal, democratic model, and we strive to create media that furthers notions of agency, decolonization, modes of representation, and informed consent. This means working closely and transparently with clients, participants, allies and each other throughout the creative process in order to amplify stories that matter.
Our work has been featured in exhibitions and film festivals worldwide, including:
Hošek Contemporary (Berlin, Germany), Sardinia Queer Short Film Festival (Cagliari, Italy), Cannes Short Film Corner (Cannes, France), Imagine Science Film Festival (Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates), Regard Bleu (Zurich, Switzerland), LSE Fashion Society Fashion Show - Saatchi Gallery (London, UK), Mark Rothko Art Center (Daugavpils, Latvia), UNKNOWN Film Festival (Yekaterinburg, Russia), FASHIONCLASH Festival (Maastricht, Netherlands), Dawson City International Short Film Festival (Dawson City, Canada), Mittelmoda Fashion Awards (Milan, Italy), Qabila Film Festival (Cairo, Egypt), Fotofestival Schiedam (Schiedam, Netherlands), Robert Bosch Stiftung Film Prize Project Market (Amman, Jordan), Stroom (Den Haag, Netherlands), and more.
